November 1st- Dec. 18th : Yearbook Sale
Our yearbooks are now on sale and will be until Dec. 18th for $20.00. You should be receiving an order envelope today. If you do not received one, you can find them at the office window. After Dec. 18th, the price goes up to $25.00. Save money and order soon!
November 1st - 10th : Canned Food Drive
Students are encouraged to bring in canned food items for our food drive.
November 1st - January 29th : Six Flags Six Hour Reading
We have begun our journey for six hours of reading in ALL classrooms. Students that read for six hours and turn in their reading log will receive a FREE ticket to Six Flags over Georgia. You can find the reading log on the Library Page along with more information. If you need any help with this, please let Mrs. Brewer know! She will be more than happy to help you get going with this. We would LOVE to have all our students earn a FREE ticket this year.
November 4th : Early Release
We will dismiss school at 12:30p.m. on Wednesday the 4th for our city's Veteran's Day Parade. Please make arrangements NOW for picking up your children. There will be NO GYM OR EDGE.
November 5th : Veteran's Day Sing-A-Long
Starting at 10:30a.m. in the auditorium, each grade level will perform for our Veterans. Please try and stop in and tell these Veteran's that you appreciate all they have done for our country.
November 6th : Nerd Day (PTO fundraiser)
Bring $.50 and dress as a nerd! This helps raise money for our PTO so that they can help do fund things for our students throughout the year!
November 11th : Veteran's Day
School will be CLOSED
November 13th : Reservations for 1st Grade Luncheon are Due!
You have from now until the 13th to turn in your reservation for lunch with your 1st grade student. Please don't wait and miss out on this opportunity! Having lunch with your student may not sound important, but it means the world to them when you show up!!!!
November 17th : School Wide Spelling Bee
Our students are practicing daily in their classrooms for this big event! Each classroom winner and runner up will be allowed to participate in this years school wide spelling bee. The winner and runner up for this Bee will go on to compete in the City Wide Spelling Bee.
November 20th : Anti-Bully Day and 1st Grade Luncheon
All students will be encouraged to sport their Alabama or Auburn gear and "Team Up Against Bullies". This will also be our 1st Grade Thanksgiving Luncheon.
We will come back to school on November 30th after our Thanksgiving Break! The following evening, December 1st, we will kick off our month of December with a Christmas Sing-A-Long at GCHS Auditorium. Last year was a blast, so I'm sure this year will be even better!
